suspicion confirmed

October 10th, 2006

Looks like I was right about Salvadore Ferragamo.  He was honored with the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style award this past Sunday in Beverly Hills.  Not only that, he has a pseudo-name these days in Bev. Hills, that being “shoemaker to the stars.”  EMAnd the stars did shine that night.  Eva Mendes showed up to support a fave desinger looking sexy as ever in a tight, bright blue, eye catching dress (not quite sure on the belt, though).  And one of our favorite Sex and the City gals, Kristen Davis, was also in attendance looking ever so Charlotte in a brown prarie styKDle dress with short tea cup sleeves, but still cute as ever.  Yes, I think it is fair to say that celebrities love, love, love Salvadore Ferragamo.  Reading over the acceptance speech his family gave at the ceremony, I learned that Ferragamo was the first to create the wedge shoe!  Learn something new everyday. His name and label will be honored with a permanent plaque featuring his quote - that I love - and signature placed in the sidewalk along Rodeo Drive.  Another interesting fact that I found out was that Giorgio Armani was the first to receive the award in 2003, and that it has been notorious for being awarded to some of the biggest players in fashion ever since.  I know it only confirmed for me what I believed to be true already…that Ferragamo is simply divine!
