sunshine daydreams…
February 15th, 2007
Being a mid-westerner, I have found myself the past couple of days stuck in the confines of my home and I have realized that I am the kind of person who is not happy unless she is doing something. Being stuck in my home for two days is absolute torture for a person like me who thrives on being “on the go,” and sadly this resulted in a ton of warm-weather daydreams. I blame the folks at the Fine Living Network whose programming for one entire day included the best resorts, sights, restaurants and basically the best of everything in Hawaii. My mind began to drift in the Hawaiian bliss and I found myself putting looks together that would accompany me on my trip. Why not daydream of the ensembles one would wear on an uber fabulous vacay? Especially when she has no hopes of breaking free of the snow/ice mixture that barricaded my home and vehicle. I have daydream vacationed in the past and I highly suggest it. It really does cause you to see light at the end of the (very long and boring) winter tunnel.

Of course, on the gorgeous beaches of Hawaii, I would need a stellar suit and this Beach Sexy polka-dot bikini from Victoria’s Secret Swim 2007 is just perfect for it. Yellow is what is hot for spring/summer ‘07 and you can be sure that in this bright shade, even the faintest tan would become apparent.

Check out this pair of delicious Patent Slingback Sandals from Jimmy Choo. Are they not to die for? I love the gold hoop detail and the mixture of brown and gold would pair so well with so many summer looks. Doesn’t hurt that they are Jimmy Choo’s either, right?
While on my last vacation, all I wore was dresses. Mostly because I found them extremely comfortable in such hot weather and you just couldn’t beat pairing comfy-ness with looking great. I mananged to look “dressed-up” in trowing on an effortless dress, some strappy sandals and adding a few accessories. All the while having my (beach) air dryed hair thrown up in a pony tail! It really was the best. I like the simplicity of this white Lilly Pulitzer Crochet Dress because you have the option of going really over the top with a fab handbag (much like the retro-inspired Furla clutch shown below in the very summery shade of white) and sassy sandal.
