suit season
March 26th, 2007
Swimsuit season is upon us and for those of us going on fabulous trips in the near future or just relaxing poolside, the need for a trendy suit always seems to present itself this time of year. Personally, I will be sitting this suit season out due to the fact that my bulging pregnant belly might not look so hot in the latest Victoria’s Secret bikini so why waste the cash? But I still had to check them out! A few of the trends that I have been seeing with this season’s suits include bright colors (no surprise there!), graphic prints and the return of the retro-inspired one piece. I happen to love that the one piece is making a comeback. I have a one piece that I bought last year from Victoria’s Secret and love it! It is a halter style top with a deep V and low back making it super sexy and still very chic. I prefer it to a sometimes trashy looking string bikini anyday.

This one piece from the Very Sexy swim line at Victoria’s Secret is not exactly vintage inspired but is still very, very elegant and sexy. People usually associate women who wear a one piece as women who are trying to hide something and this suit does the exact opposite. It proves that a one piece can be totally delicious!

If you are going for a two-piece, then go for one that sports a graphic print like this Michael Kors leopard bikini. It incorporates the trend of the animal graphic print with the gold hardware to create a look that is very much “in season.”

So, I am normally not a huge fan of Juicy Couture mainly because there stuff is too “in your face” for me but I just have to say that I am 100% in love with this suit! Had I not been expecting a huge belly this swim season, this would be the suit I would snatch up for sure! This is the perfect example of a retro inspired suit that is completely fabulous! The polka dot pattern is so in this season and the fit of the suit is just so classic beauty. It is the kind of suit that one would wear and feel like an old movie star. I don’t know about you but I’ll take feeling like an old movie star in a vintage inspired suit over feeling like Pamela Anderson in a string bikini any day! So, in venturing out for you summer swim gear remember - graphic prints, vintage inspiration and bold colors.
