holiday style

While I am a tad nervous about today’s posting because it does concern a religious holiday that not all celebrate, the burning desire to go ahead and empty my thoughts on it just kept presenting itself so I had to devulge.  Plus, I think we are all mature enough to handle it.  Easter is a holidapeepsy full of chocolate bunnies, marshmellow chicks, dyed eggs and shades of pastel everywhere you look.  Whether you celebrate this holiday or not, if you are any sort of fashionista, you have most definitely become privy to another “traditional” Easter practice and that is the white accessory phenomenon that becomes apparent this time of year.  Even in my days as a little girl in ringlets (okay, so maybe it wasn’t exactly ringlets but you get the idea) I can remember my little white patent leather shoes and matching bag to accompany my Easter dress and this practice is still very much with us today.  I just love when fashion transcends the normal boundaries of the industry to become what most consider to be a holiday tradition.  Think about it…how many of us will be witness to females out in full force in their perfect spring dresses and white accessories?  It is a part of what the beginning of spring is all about and don’t you just love that fashion found a way to attach itself so relentlessly to a religious holiday?  To me, the white accessories at Easter is bigger than the red/black winter holiday combo that is so popular.  So, whether you spend your Easter accessorizing with your bright whites or with a day full of laundry is your business but as a proper fashionista, you have to admit, the practice is there and probably going nowhere.
