oversize totes

Having just received my brand new Kate Spade Coal Bag this past week
that I plan on toting as an eventual diaper bag (8 weeks and counting), I was more than excited to spot in the latest issue of Harpers that oversize totes are still very in for SS’07. After what seemed like an endless search for a designer diaper bag that was uber chic, I finally decided to go with an oversize tote instead. This way, I can utilize the tote in many different ways including a diaper bag rather than spending that kind of dough on a one-deminsional bag. Coach did offer some pretty stellar diaper bags but they all seemed too big or bared too close a resemblence to a small suitcase for my liking. The point is, however, that I love my new Kate Spade, have been toting it since the day I got it and have already received so many compliments on it. If you are in the market for a new oversize tote (not necessarily to be used as a diaper bag), here are some that I found incredibly tote-worthy. Mine being number one on the list, of course.

For an everyday large tote, I like this Signature Stripe Large Tote from Coach. This is one that I considered getting as my “psuedo” diaper bag and actually tried it on in the store (in brown). It proved to be the toughest choice but I decided that considering what I was purchasing the bag for, I wanted to go with a more casual look. But I do love it…oh, and it’s reversable, if you’re into that sort of thing.

If you are looking for something a little more fun, then go for this Michael Kors Tiger Print Tote. Animal prints are all the rage for SS’07 and I just love the detail on this tote, not to mention the fact that it features black, brown and ivory, meaning it has the capability to coordinate with just about any look!

You could say that white is “white hot” this season and this Dolce & Gabbana tote is killer. Having seen this bag in person as well, I must tell you that it is just gorgeous! The faint, light blue stitching against the all white leather is perfect for a fresh summer look and it has a stunning red lining that creates amazing contrast.

I didn’t know there was such a thing as an ‘oversized’ tote! Bigger the better!
