hats galore

I am not a very big horse racing fan, but I do love the Kentucky Derby simply because of all of the fabulous hats! When else is it appropriate to wear a hat that is twice the size of your head? Celebs and non-celebs alike were spotted at this year’s Derby wearing some fantastically huge and interesting hats.
I am not sure what all is included in this hat but it looks to me like it is one of the “everything but the kitchen sink” varities. It is a little over the top/tacky for me but you have to give the girl credit for sticking her neck out there like that.
I really like Vanessa Minnillo’s derby hat because it’s neutral and pretty classy but still big and fun. Her date isn’t looking too bad either.
Melissa Joan Hart looks like a seventy year old woman in this hat and dress combo! I don’t understand why someone wouldn’t have stopped her and told her that. With so many fabulous, fashionable hats to choose from, I don’t understand why she went with one that would have been a more suitable match for someone such as the Queen…
Come on now Melissa, we can do better than that!
Even some of the men went for the fantastic hat this year. Former NBA player, John Salley is looking pimp-licious in this ivory/chocolate fedora. I have yet to attend a Kentucky Derby myself, but know that the day that I do, I will make it my business to find the chicest, most fabulous hat out there and sport it with pride!
