Making the Smart Changes
May 13th, 2007
So, my girlfriend comes up to me yesterday and demands to know if I think she looks fat! Now, I’m not going to lie, she’s got a little extra junk in her trunk, but she is an attractive gal. As we continued to talk, she went ballistic and cried her eyes out about how she was so unhappy with how she looks. Now this girl is
bigger, true, but in no sense of the word is she ugly, but she was describing herself as though she were Frankenstein right out of Transylvania. This really opened my eyes to the epidemic of poor self esteem sweeping this nation. Girls feel horrible about themselves because the media continues to insist beauty is measured by how large your breasts are, how tiny your waist is, and exactly how lean your figure looks. But, as you’ve heard “beauty is not skin deep,” and nothing is sexier than a confident and bold chic. So, don’t go out and change your body, simply change how you present your body. All you really have to do is find a look that compliments all that you got, and, Hun, let me be the first to tell you we all got plenty to flaunt. You got a smaller sized bust, well how about showing a little leg! Are you blessed with a little cushion why don’t you try some of the new trends out this summer.
All you girls that have fuller thighs or a voluptuous tushy should try wide legged jeans like these Paige Premium Denim ‘Robertson’ Wide Leg Stretch Jeans. They will add proportionality to your figure instantaneously! And paired with an empire-waist top like this Roxywear only the right curves will get all the attention.
For all of you girls that have a petite upper body there are hundreds of little corks that you can make to almost any outfit to swerve the attention away from breast area. The trendiest of the list for this season is adding day dresses to your wardrobe. Any day dress will accentuate your legs and inevitably draw the attention away for the bust line. Some of the hottest designers for daydresses this season are Marc Jacobs and Ella Moss alongside J.Crew with many more dazzling gems like this Swiss-dot Sylvan dress that I am so lusting after!
Or try pairing tanks and cropped jackets or perhaps tanks with v-neck, buttoned henleys because layers can do much justice to a petite body and is, more importantly, hip.
But for those days that your not in the mood for a day dress, and layered clothing isn’t all that appealing to you, there is one thing you can always do to divert the attention from your breasts, and that is adding accessories. Chucky bangles and cuffs are the hot accessory of Spring/ Summer 07 fashion
with everyone from celebs like J Lo to designers like Stella McCartney looking luxe with their fab pieces. And you can do the same especially when you use them to complete a white on white ensemble. To add that last bit of oomph to your ensemble a handbag is a must. This seasons handbag trends lend themselves beautifully to versatility. You can go small with sheek day clutches to overly sized “carry my world with me” totes like this Dolce&Gabbana Large Tote to complete just about any look; its like a blessing from the heavens! You can wow the world with the bright and bold colors out this season or prove to be a true fashion idol supporting
the crisp white craze. But the basic idea here is that through using accessories you will be, one thing, looking awesome and secondly able to draw away the attention from your bust to other qualities.
So, remember that even though diet companies want you to feel like you can shed a few pounds to look better that it isn’t completely necessary because you can and do look good just the way you are!
