Dolce & Gabbana Resort 2008

Dolce & Gabbana did it again; another magnificent Resort fashion show under their belt! Fashion geniuses Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana found inspiration for Resort 2008 in the Heart of Africa. Khaki was unanimously the favorite runway color this year, but many pieces presented had a nice little twist in the mix- Jungle safari meets vogue!
It was the cocktail dresses that were the talk of the night. The house outdid itself this time around with the addition of beautiful embellishments, which included exquisite ribbons, flowers, and amazingly lustrous crystals.
The leopard print was bound to make its way to the ramp as it happens to be the house signature, but looking as freshly new and unique as ever! This show was, to say the least, as stunning as one would have expected from Dolce & Gabbana. As I was browsing through the collection, though, I noticed a handbag that model-Katia Kokoreva-was carrying, which was strikingly similar to a style I had seen before. So, of course curiosity kills the cat, I just had to look into it and I was right this handbag was almost an exact replica of a Balenciaga Frame Bag from their Spring/Summer ‘07 collection. I personally like the Balenciaga because the brown hue has much more of an appeal to it than its white Dolce & Gabbana counterpart. Sorry, boys it looks like Balenciaga stole the fire on that one.
