Armani Prive

July 1st, 2007

It’s fashion week in Paris, and what a week it will be! July 2nd marked the beginning of a Fall 2007 Couture catwalks with Christian Dior leading the way despite some minor delays.  Each and every designer has unveiled some breathtaking ensembles; which have A-listers glued to their seats.  Of the premiering designers Armani Prive’s entire collection was stunningly impressive.  The brilliant color scheme was truly awe-inspiring; I just love how the signature color of the fall season-grey- was brought to life by the different bold and sassy colors thrown into the mix.

The evening began with the featuring of gorgeous tulip skirts, which Armani had paired with waisted fitting jackets-yum to say the least.  Sleek pantsuits followed next, which were designed to give the shoulders a defined look with the bottoms appearing very linear.  The pieces presented in the cocktail gown portion came with a complete surprise.

It was as though he took a complete 360 from his concept at that point, none-the-less equally stunning.  Armani found inspiration in Bowie to heat up this runway.  Hence, I am personally indebted to Bowie now!  I have recently been on the prowl for the perfect outfit to attend a family wedding late this month; you know what they say summertime is the time of love, which means weddings, weddings, and yes you guessed it more weddings.  This wedding is supposed to be the event of this summer with all my family in attendance; so needless to say I must look radiant.  I’ve been looking about, but everything is either to gaudy or not elegant enought to be worn to an upscale ceremony.  But, this suede top with the tulip skirt are like a godsend!

Not only elegant in itself and form flattering, but I already have a pair of peep-toe pumps and a Nannini handbag dying for a night that look as though they all came together.  Now, it’s just the matter of actually getting my hands on the ensemble!
