Jimmy Choo’s Newest
July 25th, 2007
Designer Jimmy Choo has been soaking up all the rave lately, and for good reason! His heels are the IT thing every time the Red Carpet is rolled out with starlets lining down the block to see what he’s got. In recent news Tamara Mellon is designing a satin Stardust sandal expected to debut in U.S. Choo boutiques this August and worldwide by October. The limited edition sandal will feature a crystal set on a gold link chain in a four inch heel. The exclusive heels are hitting the market at a $850 retail value. The inspiration for the Stardust sandal came from a fantasy tale about a fallen star that transforms into a gorgeous young girl, and she wears a magical pendant, which is the object the Mellon team interpreted in the form of the Stardust sandal.
Bejeweled heels have always been a signature of Jimmy Choo, but what I’ve always wanted to know is how one can pull off jeweled shoes! Clearly, it’s obvious that you would want to wear it with a dress or skirt so that you can fully flaunt them, but what about the other accessorizing. Would you then want to wear a necklace/earrings at all, or would it be more preferable to wear accessories that follow the minimalist look? And how about the handbag? Should one opt for a handbag that is more bare than embellished like a Ermanno Scervino Satchel, which is not done up on the hardware but has elegance in its minimalist qualities or would a bag that is equally as striking be more complementary for the look? These are the questions that have been puzzling me since I’ve heard that Jimmy Choo came out with a lux new limited edition. So, why don’t you guys tell me; what is your take on the subject? What is the rule of thumb for donning a jeweled sandal?

That is a good question. If I was putting that outfit together I would make the shoes the most important accessory. If you add a done up purse and jewelry you would look too guady don’t you think. I’m interested in seeing what other readers have to say. Keep up the good work on blogging. You guys always come up with interesting tidbits to think about.
