For work?

August 13th, 2007

I think it is safe to assume that Fall 07 wear is bagging majorly on professional wear!  Work pantsuits and skirt-suits were all the rave in several catwalks of heavy weight designers like Armani Prive and Valentino.  I for one am revved up about the whole thing because nothing is more enticing to me than being able to look fashionably HOT at work!  The splash of color added to usual grays and tweeds of fall is inspiring to say the least.  I was actually out with a girlfriend at the mall and she was looking at a Trapunto Detail Silk Charmeuse Blouse at Bebe’s in a very audacious red.  The top seemed as though it had been made only for her; it fit so flatteringly! The red shade really brought all of the nice features of her face out too; so, how does this all connect together?  Well, despite all the good qualities of the blouse I just couldn’t get her to agree to purchase it. She was so worried that she couldn’t wear it to the office or that she wouldn’t be able to match anything to it.  How silly is that, right?  Red is a power color; for the love of goodness it is made for the workplace.  To show some people that they really just need to lay off; so you have a problem with some overpowering peers that forget they aren’t management bust out that bright red blouse and cut your problems in half!  As for the accessorizing, well when does it pay off to have really good friends.  I lent her a pair of my black peep toe pumps from Neiman Marcus and my super trendy Nannini shoulder bag.  So, I guess you know where I stand on the Fall 07 trend of remixing work ensembles with innovative colors.  No need to say two thumbs way up!
