Save A Life By Looking Good

We often as citizens of industrial nations forget how luxurious our lives happen to be; I catch myself fretting over my situation when in fact my life truly is a good one. My biggest worries of rising gas prices are truly noting compared to the problems others face around the world. Daily 3,000 people die in Africa of Malaria; they die because they are bitten by a mosquito! If I go outside for even the slightest of moments I spray myself two times over will bug repellant, and these people have nothing to protect them. It is a serious problem that needs attention; five designers have teamed up with Glamour Magazine to come up with a solution. I for one applaud them for their efforts! Designer Erin Fetherston, Peter Som, Jovovich-Hawk, Thankoon, and Marchesa have designed limited edition tees to aid the humanitarian efforts of Malaria No More charity. For every tee purchased off of shopbop.com Glamour and Malaria No More have pledged to donate insecticide-treated bed nets to those in need. The manufacturer of these bed nets has also been kind enough to promise to match the amount of donations given through Glamour. A single net can save up to twelve lives; someone is being saved somewhere out in the world and you are looking good in your designer t-shirt. It is a win- win situation!

I know I’m putting in a order for one of these for sure! They are certainly very sheek and picturesque. I know that I have about a dozen handbags to go with any one of these lux tees. I can just see myself in the Peter Som t-shirt, skinny black jeans, my Furla Small Tote, and Jimmy Choo flats ready to hit the mall!
