Armani Goes Virtual
October 17th, 2007
Armani pioneered another fab idea- creating a virtual Armani Manzoni on Second Life. Armani decided to “mirror” his Manzoni boutique in a virtual 3-D realm- way cool, I know! His virtual realm is an exact replica of the actual Manzoni with two restaurants, a bookstore, a flower shop, a home-interiors store, a nightclub, a cosmetics counter, and a confectionery corner all accounted for. Armani has taken shopping to a whole new level with this experience, and is way worth the few bucks spent on becoming a Second Life resident. I would suggest joining and looking for this avatar as it is Armani’s virtual representation checking up on his boutique. It’s amazing how fast you get sucked you into the whole experience. Oh and as a FYI you can purchase the items using Second Life currency; how awesome is that! But of course there is a link to the Emporio Armani site for those of us who like a bit more tangibility in our purchases.

Wow! It really goes to show how the internet has largely influenced Armani and I hope more designers follow suit.
And buying with Second Life currency is just awesome!

More and more companies brand themself in Second Life. I wonder if Second Life will become something really big and people can run their whole business in there and sell stuff? I tried it once.. but honestly i couldnt find any reason to just walk around there. I mean there is nothing to do really.
